Dear Enlighteners, Building on from the last blog on Vision... I am opening this blog for us to have a space to discuss the visionary writings.
Q - Shall we call these visionary writings manifestos?
Manifesto is defined as "a public declaration of policy and aims" (ref: Oxford Dictionary). The intent is for the writings to be made public with the aim of creating policies.
One of the areas where we can grow from and add to the 1st Enlightenment Movement, is that in the 2nd Enlightenment, we write the visionary statements together. That although only a small group may hold the expertise of that certain area of society, whether it be education, commerce, law, government, etc. that we all contribute to it.
I believe in this way, we will be creating deeper, stronger, richer, more robust conversations and writings, as the lens will not only be from those that hold the expertise but also from those that have experiences of that sector of society from the ‘outside'.
In this way, we are including those internally within their expertise of society and knowledge and externally including those that are not a part of that society but are impacted by it. This allows for a much more, fuller and robust vision - one that includes the lenses from, hopefully, most angles.
Q. - Thoughts on writing our manifestos together?
To explore that further, may I suggest the conversations and writings to be, where possible, global, with national elements where needed, in order to:
· support multilateralism
· align with technological advancements
· acknowledge that our world, in one way, is becoming one (This does not refer to, in any way, the indication of loss of identity. In fact, the opposite is what is supported by the 2nd Enlightenment – a celebration of diverse identities. Hence, I state “in one way”.)
Q. - Thoughts on global manifesto writings (where possible)?
The other important factor in having a global approach to our conversations and writings is that we currently are seeing the ‘unheard voice’, from earth and people, often bearing the most extreme fall-outs of pre 2nd Enlightenment behaviour. Loop holes are sought after for the sake of financial gains by playing one part of the global against the other.
In approaching the 2nd Enlightenment conversations and writings, where possible, always with the global approach, we then uncover, bring light, and eliminate, the unfair and disadvantaged circumstances these loop holes provide. So, the ‘unheard voice’ is no longer taken advantage of.
Once we have a manifesto version 1.0 put together on a particular topic (for a place to start from) we can share it with social media to further include the wider, international audience.
Q- What are your thoughts on this process?
I see the manifestos future steps as then moving into practical applications of them.
