9. Manifesto of Morality

Dear Enlighteners,

Building on from the last blog on writing manifestos... I am opening this blog for us to consider one of the first manifestos that we can write together on morality.

Manifesto of Morality

When we think of the far too many shootings that are happening in different parts of the world, a grievously far too long list, along with other acts of violence, the gravity of this darkness may lead us to first begin with a Manifesto of Morality.

This is in response to the extreme unbelief that we are still dealing with faith crimes, gender crimes, racist crimes, and far too many other injustices that relate to the un-acceptance of others; groups or individuals.

Cleary, basic human morality is needing to be taught in as many places and opportunities as possible.  In dialogue with others, morality is often no longer taught in the homes, hence this becomes a responsibility of the public domain.

Intention: The Manifesto of Morality or “the People’s Creed” (or something more inspiring as a title), to be read out before every sports game, the opening of international meetings & events, essentially any time a national anthem is sung, the start of a school day, at the start of faith based service, or a multinational gathering comes together, the People’s Creed or Manifesto of Morality is read out loud.

The intention for it to be a reminder of morality; why we are coming together, a reminder of what respectful code of conduct is, leaves behind the energies that we came into the space with and refreshes our outlook for the sports game, meeting, event or other, that we are about to partake in.

Contents to Include In using UN values, the human rights declaration, elements from the world interfaith declaration, we already have agreement from multiple countries on the elements that can be used to construct the Manifest of Morality.

This should provide ease to the acceptance of its application.  Essentially, we are simply asking for this collaboration of the summarised contents to be read out in order for it to remind humanity of humility and morality.

Next Steps for Writing the Manifesto of Morality: 1. Should you think this is a good place to start from, feel free to leave comments on contents of writing this manifesto in the blog space below.

2. Once the version 1.0 of this manifesto is ready to be shared, we can include it on the wiki page of the 2nd Enlightenment Movement, as well as social media to invite feedback.

On the wiki page we can start to input the framework with action items for implementation when we are ready.

Actions to Implement I have some ideas noted on a step wise approach on how we can take this forward for implementation once we are ready, which I can introduce later.
